How to change USDT to Kenyan shillings with M-Pesa

Selling USDT for shillings peer-to-peer means a buyer sends you KES by M-Pesa and the marketplace holds your USDT until you confirm it arrived. This is how it works on Koinzaar and what to check on your phone before you release.

Two ways to sell

What happens in a trade

  1. Create an account and verify your email.
  2. Hold USDT in your Koinzaar wallet. The wallet page shows which networks are currently accepting deposits.
  3. Open or accept a trade. Your USDT for that trade moves into escrow immediately.
  4. The buyer sends shillings to your M-Pesa number from a line registered in their own name, and marks the trade paid.
  5. You confirm the payment in the M-Pesa app or your M-Pesa statement, then release.

Fees

The seller pays a fee when the crypto is released: 0.5% for bank transfer and mobile money, 0.75% for e-wallets, 1% for cash and 5% for gift cards. Buyers pay no Koinzaar fee.

M-Pesa is charged at the mobile money rate. Safaricom’s own transaction charges are separate and are not set by Koinzaar.

Checks before you release

A trade that runs out of time is cancelled and the USDT goes back to you. Koinzaar never releases crypto because a timer ran out.

Questions

Can I buy USDT with M-Pesa too?

Yes. The “Buy USDT with M-Pesa” board lists sellers who accept M-Pesa. The seller’s USDT is in escrow before you send any shillings, and buyers pay no Koinzaar fee.

What if the buyer reverses the M-Pesa payment after I release?

Release only once the money is in your balance, and accept payment only from a line in the buyer’s own name. If you see a problem before releasing, open a dispute and the USDT stays in escrow while a moderator looks at it.

What does it cost?

The seller pays 0.5% of the trade on release for M-Pesa. The buyer pays no Koinzaar fee.
