How to sell USDT for naira with OPay, PalmPay or a bank transfer
On a peer-to-peer marketplace you sell USDT to another person, they pay you naira directly, and the marketplace holds your USDT in escrow until you confirm the money arrived. Here is how that works on Koinzaar, and the checks that keep it safe.
Two ways to sell
- Take an existing offer. Open the “Sell USDT for OPay”, “Sell USDT for PalmPay” or “Sell USDT for Nigerian bank transfer” board, pick a buyer whose rate and limits suit you, and open a trade.
- Post your own offer. Set your rate as a margin on the market price or as a fixed naira rate, choose the payment methods you accept, and buyers come to you.
What happens in a trade
- Create an account and verify your email.
- Hold USDT in your Koinzaar wallet. The wallet page shows which networks are currently accepting deposits.
- Open or accept a trade. The USDT for that trade moves from your balance into escrow at that moment, so the buyer can see it is locked before they pay.
- The buyer sends naira to the OPay, PalmPay or bank account you named, from an account in their own name, and marks the trade paid.
- You check your own app. When the naira is there, you release, and the USDT goes to the buyer.
Fees
The seller pays a fee when the crypto is released: 0.5% for bank transfer and mobile money, 0.75% for e-wallets, 1% for cash and 5% for gift cards. Buyers pay no Koinzaar fee.
OPay, PalmPay and bank transfer are all charged at the bank and mobile money rate. Your bank or wallet may charge its own transfer fees, which are separate.
Checks before you release
- Release only after the money is in your own account, checked in your own banking or wallet app. A screenshot, a forwarded SMS or a “debit alert” sent by the buyer is not a payment.
- Accept payment only from an account in the same name as the buyer’s Koinzaar profile. A payment from someone else is how stolen funds and later reversals reach you.
- Keep every message in the trade chat. If something goes wrong, the chat and your evidence are what the moderator reads.
- If anything does not match, open a dispute instead of releasing. The crypto stays in escrow while a person looks at it.
A trade that runs out of time is cancelled and the USDT goes back to you. Koinzaar never releases crypto because a timer ran out.
Questions
Who decides if the buyer says they paid and I did not receive it?
Either side can open a dispute while the USDT is in escrow. A moderator reads the trade chat and the evidence both of you attach, then releases to the buyer or returns the USDT to you. Nobody can move it while the dispute is open.
Does Koinzaar hold my naira?
No. The buyer pays you directly into your own OPay, PalmPay or bank account. Koinzaar holds the USDT side of the trade only.
What does it cost to sell USDT for naira?
The seller pays 0.5% of the trade when the USDT is released, for bank transfer and mobile money including OPay and PalmPay. The buyer pays no Koinzaar fee.
