NoOnes and Paxful have closed. What to do next
Two of the largest peer-to-peer marketplaces for Nigerian and Kenyan traders are gone: Paxful shut down on 1 November 2025, and NoOnes closed its P2P marketplace on 21 August 2026. If you traded on either, this is a checklist for what to keep, what to watch out for, and how to judge where to go.
Keep your record
- Save screenshots of your old profile: username, trade count, feedback score and the date you joined.
- Keep any trade history export or emails the platform sent you. They are the evidence another marketplace can check.
- Write down your regular counterparties’ usernames, so you can recognise them, and impersonators, elsewhere.
Watch for recovery scams
Closures bring messages from people offering to “recover” balances or “migrate” accounts for a fee. Only the platform itself can return a balance, through its own official channels. Nobody needs your password, your 2FA codes or an upfront payment to do it.
What to check in any replacement
| Question | Why it matters | On Koinzaar |
|---|---|---|
| Is the crypto locked before the buyer pays? | Without it, a buyer pays a stranger and hopes. | Yes. Opening a trade moves the seller’s crypto into escrow first. |
| Can a timer release the crypto? | Auto-release pays a buyer who did nothing. | No. An expired trade is cancelled and the crypto returns to the seller. |
| Who decides disputes? | A rule engine cannot read a bank statement. | A moderator reads the chat and evidence on every dispute. |
| Does the platform hold your cash? | Holding fiat is a different, bigger risk. | No. Buyers pay sellers directly. |
| Is the fee published? | You cannot price an offer without it. | Yes. Seller pays 0.5% on bank and mobile money; buyers pay 0%. |
Bringing your record to Koinzaar
- Create an account.
- Submit your old Paxful or NoOnes profile with screenshots from the import page in your settings.
- A moderator checks it. Approved trades are added to your total and labelled with where they came from, for example “312 trades · 280 on NoOnes”, so buyers can always see which part of your history happened here.
Koinzaar is not affiliated with Paxful or NoOnes. The names are used only to describe what happened and where a trading history comes from.
