How to buy USDT with naira by bank transfer
Buying USDT peer-to-peer means you pay a person in naira, and the USDT you are buying is locked in escrow before you send anything. This is how that works on Koinzaar with a Nigerian bank transfer, OPay or PalmPay.
Which board to open
- Bank transfer: “Buy USDT with Nigerian bank transfer”.
- OPay or PalmPay: the board named for that wallet. They are mobile-money trades, not a different coin.
- Not sure of the rail yet: “Buy USDT in Nigeria”, then filter by the method you actually have.
What happens in a trade
- Create an account and verify your email.
- Open a trade on an offer whose rate, limits and payment method suit you. The seller’s USDT for that trade moves into escrow at that moment.
- Pay the seller in naira, from an account in your own name, to the account named in the trade. Mark the trade paid only after you have sent it.
- The seller checks their own app and releases. The USDT moves from escrow to your Koinzaar balance.
If the payment window runs out before the trade is marked paid, the trade is cancelled and the USDT returns to the seller. A timer never sends it to you.
Fees
The seller pays a fee when the crypto is released: 0.5% for bank transfer and mobile money, 0.75% for e-wallets, 1% for cash and 3% for gift cards. Buyers pay no Koinzaar fee.
On a bank transfer, OPay or PalmPay trade the seller pays 0.5% when the USDT is released. You are the buyer, so you pay no Koinzaar fee. Your bank or wallet may still charge its own transfer fee.
Checks before you pay
- The trade should show the USDT as locked in escrow before you send naira. If it does not, do not pay.
- Pay only the account written in the trade, and only from an account in the same name as your Koinzaar profile.
- Keep the debit alert and every message inside the trade chat. That is what a moderator reads if you open a dispute.
- Do not move the conversation to WhatsApp or Telegram, and do not pay a third party the seller names after the trade has opened.
Questions
Is the USDT locked before I pay?
Yes. Opening the trade moves the seller’s USDT into escrow. They cannot spend it or withdraw it while the trade is open. The seller releases it after confirming your payment, or a moderator decides a dispute.
What if I pay and the seller does not release?
Open a dispute from the trade. The USDT stays in escrow, and a moderator decides every dispute from the chat and the evidence both sides send. Nobody can move it while the dispute is open.
What does it cost to buy USDT with naira?
Buyers pay no Koinzaar fee. The seller pays 0.5% of the trade when the USDT is released, for bank transfer and for mobile money including OPay and PalmPay.
